CONTACT ADDRESS FOR ENQUIRIES & RESEARCH

All communications regarding this website, including research requests, should be e-mailed to Robert Martin at the email address further below.

IMPORTANT...... PLEASE READ!

Before making contact via e-mail, please ensure that "Ballarat History Central Enquiry" appears in the Subject Header - if not your message will likely be automatically deleted as spam and not answered.

ENQUIRIES AND RESEARCH

Ballarat History Central is a voluntarily maintained, fully independent community website designed to appeal to anyone interested in history in general, and local history in particular.

The owner of Ballarat History Central (Robert Martin) has to pay all costs of running this site. Donations to cover costs (or research requests) are always welcome. Secure online payment can be made using PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to do this.

All enquiries, excluding those about school projects, will be responded to individually. Help with school projects is not available, and requests will not be answered.

Basic general enquiries not requiring detailed research will be responded to free of charge. However, most requests for information usually involve undertaking research to varying degrees. Please allow up to 2 weeks for a reply.

A Research Service is available. Effective 1st January 2008, the minimum charge is AUD$30 for up to two hours research, with each additional hour or part thereof AUD$15. Total fee charged includes airmail postage within Australia and a maximum of ten A4 photocopies. Where it is considered appropriate, a flat fee may be quoted.

After receiving a quote, research fees are payable in advance - to do this please click on the PayPal Donate button above, or elsewhere on this website. Australian residents can also pay by Cheque or Money Order.

Enquiries from outside Australia are welcome.

Please include as much information as you can with your enquiries - e.g. full names, dates (birth, death), addresses, where you have already searched, and any documents or photos you may already have. This avoids a response giving you information you may already have or be aware of.

As an additional service, digital photo or video shoots within Ballarat and surrounding areas can be arranged (e.g. of graves, buildings, statues, historical sites, etc.). These can be printed, burnt onto a CD or DVD, or if a few photos only, e-mailed. (A further separate AUD$30 minimum charge may apply depending on the circumstances).

Digital photos can also be converted into a self-running slide show presentation playable on most DVD players. Quotes available on request.

Research and/or photo requests should be e-mailed to Robert Martin at the e-mail address below.
